Prince Passes By Poem by Suzanna Chevalier

Prince Passes By

In restaurant Prince passes by
ambience is almost of candle light
- in club late on cold winter’s night.
I seem him vaguely in the front room
He is surrounded by men like in a cocoon.
Protected by 2 burly men that are very tall
- looking at him, he’s short and small.
Now no one knows he is there-
- eating at his favorite place without a care.
Except for my good friend-
He said “He came out of room for men”
Prince looked at me, but I did not see-
I was too busy focused on my eating.
Next time I will pay Princes’s way-
for Prince’s birthday with a Krendoll cake on a tray.
Oh, no I forgot he doesn’t celebrate that certain day-
Maybe New Year’s Eve is a better Holiday.
