Protect You Poem by Jorge Arturo Valles Anguiano

'I'm so weak that I can't even protect anything,
I'm so sorry because I never protected you,
I can't do anything about it'
Then she answered with her angelical voice,
'You don't need to worry,
you're protecting me like if I was your daughter,
you're like the only person that can protect me,
you've made me so happy everyday,
you've protected me from any danger,
never blame yourself of what happened to me,
because you did your best,
you found me with chains while you were holding a key
and with that key you let me free,
and made darkness run away,
and sadly I never did anything for you.'
She said with tears in her face,
'And now I'm going,
I'll wait for you up there'
then she started to fade away
while smiling at me, and before she go
she said something...
And I find myself in the hospital
and started to ask about her,
'Apologies, she is no longer between us, she lost her life while saving yours'
then I remembered what she said
'I will protect you'
and I couldn't hold the tears...
