Psalm 102 Poem by Frank McEleny

Psalm 102

Hear my cries to You oh Lord
Hide not thy face in the day of my trouble
For my days are consumed in the flames of life
And my works are but wood, hay and stubble

My bones are that of an aged man
And my heart barely beats in my chest
I am gaunt by my trials and my hopelessness
And sleep has fled and left me no rest

I have decided to trust in the Lord
And my enemies all around they deride
They stalk me like lions and seek to devour
Beneath the shadow of His wings I shall hide

Arise oh Lord on the wings of a dove
Come down from your holy place
Hear the cries of your humble servant oh Lord
May I rest in Your mercy and grace
