Psalm 131 Poem by Frank McEleny

Psalm 131

There is a tumultuous noise that beckons me
Voices and men and the world
They clamor for all my attention
Into this world I am so often hurled

There is many a problem perplexing
And vexing and troubling of heart
And so in the midst of calamities
I finally decide to depart

And then all I hear is the wind in my ear
And the warmth of the sun I embrace
And the silence is gold it brings me a tear
And it rolls down upon my face

And this is my place, all alone with you
And you say to the noise ' be still'
And you fill me and fill me and fill me again
As I ascend your most holy hill
