Psalm 31 Poem by Parker Perrella

Psalm 31

Broken pottery-
Ripped at the seams-
I am forgotten:
Gone from memory.

My heart cries out
From the affliction of my enemies,
Lord, listen closely to me;
Rescue me quickly.

My eyes look toward heaven,
My spirit entrusted in Thy hand securely,
My rock and my fortress,
God of truth, you redeem me.

I say, "You are my God, "
I trust in you confidently,
Your love is faithful
O Lord, you come through for me.

Hidden in the protection of your presence,
In a city under siege,
May the Lord be praised,
For he has wonderfully shown His faithful love to me.
