Psalm 61 Poem by Frank McEleny

Psalm 61

From the north and south I will cry to you
Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I
When my heart is overwhelmed and waters cover me
And it seems that I must surely die

From the east and the west I will cry to you
Shelter me from the storm I plea
When the dark clouds come and threaten to consume
O Lord shine your light on me

From the bottom of my heart I will cry to you
I will abide in the shelter of your wings
When the thunder roars and the lightning flashes
Forever your praises I shall sing

In all the earth I shall praise the Lord
For you are my strong high tower
No violent seas nor raging storms
Can match your mighty power
