Qvartcordium - Poem by Johan Ludvig Heiberg

Den Dag vi hilse med festligst Lov,
Er denne, som aabner Aprilen.
Violen den dufter nu bag sin Skov;
Med vældige Haand, efter lange Hvilen,
Nu griber Sol efter Tordenkilen
Med Smilen.

Der staaer en Plante bag Skovens Tjørn,
Den kneiser som Ceder og Sandel.
Saalunde Du kneiser bag Skolens Børn,
Du ranke, Du søde Frue Bittermandel!
Thi Mennesket virker ved egen Handel
Og Vandel.
