Racquel, (A Poem For Miss Universe Of Haiti) (Originally By Ralph Blanchard) (Posting On His Behalf)

Racquel (English Version)

Our queen of beauty,
Sovereign elegance of our island,
Beautiful sister, who belongs to our native land,
You know so well the sky of our country,
Let your smile vibrate so it revives our complexity
In front of the fiery eyes of general atheism,
And the unfairness use of our nation's values.
You are the light that our people have chosen
To shine on the specter of our dreams,
Across the deep ocean of our pride.

May God assist you and accompany
Your sensuality and your intelligence,
For our cause and that of other Caribbean nations.
Defend our colors, our beaches, our paradise.
Seek and find us the grace of our ambitions
And bring us this crown of respect
Of tenderness and compassion.
It is a brand of prestige that resembles
By way of our hearts lost in shame,
The firmness of our souls of Louverture and Dessalines
Wishing you stay on the podium of the world
And that your smile blossoms,
While standing in front of this intense forum.

Some of the people watching your beauty,
Poorly know the extents of our roots,
Our innocence, our values, our courage,
The journey of being beautiful on condemned nation
Only counting ephemerally in the elitism,
And the cream of creation, often viewed as nothingness.
Yes... Shine with brightness
So that everyone sees that you come from
A wonderful island, with an amalgam of warmth
And vibrancy of color and love;
An Haiti, that counts its sons and bless its daughters.
An Haiti that embraces you with love and passion.
O Raquel, queen sovereign of our island.

I like this poem about Racquel, Miss. Universe of Haiti. I was talking to a friend of mine, Chachou of Canape Vert, where I used to live many moons ago. My friend swore that I know Ralph Blanchard who used to live not too far from Clebert and Bougie in Canape Vert. This is a small world after all. Welcome to Poemhunter.
