Raise Love Through Despair

However deep in life we sink
How far from truth we fall
Salvation’s Cup is close to drink
A whisper’s length to call

A word or two of silent prayer
A cry for help and love
The One who cares and loves to share
Sees everything above

Always near to sense to touch
To feel His mighty arms
Caring sharing loving so much
To free from Satan’s charms

Regardless how we’ve failed Him
How filthy still one’s heart
When life and future’s looking dim
God’s never far apart

Too oft I’ve watched Him function
Too oft seen love’s role
Too oft through Heaven’s unction
I’ve witnessed life’s true goal

It’s love, in love, true love alone
We see His awesome will
In melting but one heart of stone
Love’s dream we thus fulfil

Glorify love and love’s intent
In love let praises ring
Through love on earth we pay life’s rent
And lift up high it’s King

Now rise and shine from deep despair
Cast off the devil’s gown
Let’s love through love now everywhere
And wear it’s wondrous crown
