Reach For Help. Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Reach For Help.

Some week ago, the words arrived,
A loss I couldn't quite believe.
She'd gone, the paper gently sighed,
'She chose to leave.'

Such sorrow in those simple lines,
Despair and questions fill the air.
A battle fought for many times,
Her weary heart, beyond compare.

For children, she'd stood tall and strong,
Against the walls of endless fight.
Protecting them, where they belong,
With all her love and all her might.

But hope can dim, and shadows grow,
When worries drown the will to live.
The energy runs out, you know,
And peace, it seems, is all you crave to give.

Our calls, they stretched for hours long,
A comfort shared, a gentle ease.
We both found solace, where we belonged,
A quiet friendship, meant to please.

I smoked back then, a foolish thing,
She sent a cure, a helping hand.
A prescription, hope to bring,
A smoke-free life, throughout the land.

She always cared, in every way,
To lift the spirits, ease the pain.
So if you're lost, and lose your way,
Please, reach for help, don't face it in vain.

Find someone close, a listening ear,
A doctor, friend, or loved one dear.
Share all your fears, your doubts, your tear,
And clarity might conquer fear.

Empty your mind, just let it flow,
A new perspective starts to grow.
So hold on tight, and please, don't go,
And take good care, as you well know.
