Cars blast and honk loudly in my ear,
As I walk on the sidewalk of the street.
Vrooming and humming past me in a blur.
Harsh words are yelled somewhere further away,
Gun shots echo in the air.
The reality of humans, so very strange.
Beauty and despair, happyness and hatred.
Killings happing every day and we seem to except it.
Life something short and sweet that shouldn't be waisted,
Shouldn't be tarnished.
Yet here we stand, in a world that is beautiful.
Here we stand, in a world that is most cruel.
We live in a world that is becoming corrupt,
Bending and twisting in lies and hatred.
Do we even understand happyness anymore.
I throw myself into something alternet than what I live,
Screaming, yelling my name for doing something wrong.
Doing everything and breaking because of it.
Shattering and tearing, because I'm not a robot.
Not someone who can make anything right.
So I throw myself into dreams and a fake reality.
Creating my own world to be happy in,
Making something for myself that I can go back to.
Trying to bring myself back to happyness
That I had once felt as a child that seemed centuries ago.
Yet with a word, with a thought.
My reality comes crashing down on me.
Screaming and yelling my name.
My soul seems to be fading and slipping.
All I can do is sit silent and unspoken.
I dont' speak for I know no one will listen.
I can hear everything else that is told.
I keep a hard shell away so I can protect myself
From further harm that it sinking me into an abyss,
But I always fall down.
This is my reality.
