Reality I Do Not See
--FreeBird 02
I was lost
But now I am found
Found where I am and what I see
Truly does not belong to me.
For the tint of grey, within my eyes
Masks what is real, with a disguise
Helping me not to see
What truly belongs to me.
For the texture, upon my hands
Feels not, things I wish to understand
Only piercing little bites, each time I choose to fight
With a resistance, becoming me
Settle not for, only things, others choose, to discard
On others, such as I
In order to disguise, their short comings in life.
However, in deep dismay
The higher I reach, the deeper I fall
Fall into a rut, a rut which knows my name
Due to the many times, I repeatedly demise the same.
I was lost, but now I am found
In a mist, which knows not, whom reality has to blame
I give out, not to get up
Just to fortify those with lesser luck
But where sits I, when the hand comes out, to help me up
I must be blind, my calluses too thick, for I have yet
To witness this hand, longing to help me up…!
