Reason Why - Poem by LaTisha Parkinson

Do you know why I don’t talk to my “father”?
I don’t care why, so don’t even bother
I’ll tell you the reason why
It’s because he makes me cry
He broke my heart
And it’s tearing me apart
I only stopped because I wanted the pain to end
It’s me myself and I, I have to defend
I’m just so sick of being hurt
By that real mean jerk
I think he’s hurt me enough
So it’s time to get tough
I don’t care what you think; besides it’s to late
I just thought that I better set you straight
