Red Giant Poem by Farah Taskin

Red Giant

A painful spark sometimes shoots through me
There may be no reason. I won't delve into them

Trouble arises when you go too deep, and a great deal of darkness accumulates there
The attempt to break the web of supernatural mysteries shatters one's intellect and sanity

Society and civilisation are the cornerstone of history
When empires fall and deserts claim
A structured breath rewrites the game
At times a tumultuous uproar, the next moment absolute silent
The muscles of conscience go slack
Liquid mist fills the nakedness

Anne Frank had her diary, Dear Kitty, a love interest in Peter van Pels, and a childhood crush on Peter Schiff
Teenage girls of Gaza have none of these
They know nothing of the joys of adolescence. They merely count the hours until the mourning of death
Contrast the quiet, solitary survival of the polish pianist with the collective, unrecorded songs of a contemporary Gaza street

The grey sky gets colder, and the red sun loses its light
