Reflection Poem by Maggie Mundi

Reflection

How do you look in the mirror
Your smile must look way out of place
Deception has never been clearer
It's written all over your face

There is only one way you can do it
One way to avoid your own lies
The single way to get through it
You never look into your eyes

You swim over your shallow surface
Never going very far down
And your actions, you think
Will purchase
More time before you will drown

How little you know my silly friend
Of lies, and their deadly toll
The truth will always reign in the end
And the world can see your soul
