Christmas time, Christmas time,
A holy time of praise and prayer;
We celebrate the blessed birth
Of Lord Jesus Christ, so pure and fair.
Joseph stood by Mary's side,
In a humble manger, warm and mild;
Away from home, in Bethlehem,
Was born the holy Christ Child.
Angels watched Him as He slept,
Singing softly through the night;
They gently guarded His little bed
With heaven's calm and shining light.
A bright star rose in the eastern sky,
Shining far and shining wide,
Guiding all to God's own Son,
Our Saviour born this holy night.
All heaven and nature lift their voice,
The world is filled with joyful song;
Rejoice, rejoice—the Saviour is born,
Peace and love to all belong
