Relm Arrowny Poem by Justin Gildow

Relm Arrowny

With a pallette of colors in one hand
And a paintbrush in the other hand
A sharp toungue
And a quick witted attitude
And a confident smile
Even as young as she is
She knows how to put her foot down and make a stand
Yet, Relm Arrowny
I'm amazed by you

You ask me confidently if I'll let you paint my portrait
Smiling confidently and telling me it'll be an experience I'll never forget
I can tell Relm
You're eager to capture the image of me
You're eager to capture the moment
This moment which is our moment

Without holding anything back
I tell you to go ahead
You smile and clap with glee
And you get straight to sketching me
Which after a few strokes or your hand I can see a drawing of me
With a paintbrush and a pallette of colors
You go to town in painting my portrait
Brushes and colors of paint fly up in the air
And land on the ground all around you
And almost everywhere else

As you finish
You ask me if that's good enough for me
And in a state of amazement
Following a state of disbelief
To finally ending at a spot for me to really believe
To really believe that you pulled this off
I'm impressed Relm

I give you a bunch of coins
And you play with my emotions
But eventually you give me my portrait
I'd offer you a hug but it seems you'd much rather have a handshake
So I shake your hand Relm
And I thank you for my portrait
As well as your talents and efforts
It's all very much appreciated
Thanks for sharing your gifts and attitude with me
