Remember Me Poem by Timothy muggaga

Remember Me

Remember me!
when i become a friend to loneliness
and in the darkness am cast.
then-my only companion is trouble,
when all that is good is gone.

Remember me!
when my name is erased from the earth
and dust swallows my flesh,
when the grave owns my remains
and the vanities of life flee away
remember the youth of my life.

Remember me!
when the sickness of the mind swallows my reasoning
and my decisions are contaminated
when the cancer of sin breaks my conscience.
and my body turns into a dome of darkness
remember to shine the light of salvation

Remember me!
when, in the middle of the night, my sight fades.
and yet i travel still
when i fall into a heap of plight
from the greatness of height
Remember to turn my blindness to sight

Remember me always
when times pass and ages flee
like smoke swallowed by the wind
when empires rise and kingdoms fall,
like flowers quickly fading.
when the light of the world fades
just as the sun sets,
Remember me in eternity.
