Remember The Spaces Poem by Damian Fisher

Remember The Spaces

Remember the spaces in your hand
When your alone that's where I am
Interlaced fingers locked so tight
Holding on with all my might

Unable to be there in flesh and blood
Just close your eyes and feel my hug
Don't be frightened, don't be scared
I'll hold your hand in the empty air

Remember those memories we once shared
Those things we learned from all those years
The nights we kissed and watched the stars
The days you wake inside my arms

But now its time to say goodbye
But we have a contract to be signed
I'll seal this promise with a kiss
Leave my signature on your lips

Remember the scars upon your arms
Visual proof of who you are
Stress and pain seen on your skin
From a tortured heart deep within

Please my love put down the knife
Imperfection is a part of life
Though I'm six feet underground
I'm there for you, I'm all around

Remember the promise that you kept
To live your life and never forget
To remember those spaces in your hand
Wherever you are, that's where I am
