Remember Today Poem by Khloe Chace

Remember Today

Fill my heart with your understanding.
The color of the walls has disappeared.
The roof flew off, I failed to blast off.
The water's coming closer.

The flowers and the fields that once colored my soul,
Set fire by the furnace stretched directly under my skin.
I used to grin up at the stars,
But now they're looking down on me.

Falling forever, where do I end?
What is life when the desire is death?
My scars broke the surface,
My burning eyes now numb.
The tears' final stream down my cheek.
When everything grabs a hold,
I fall through.

The metal makes me feel once again.
Houses filled with smiles,
No one near me on my ledge.
When the last night falls into darkness,
The rain falls, the tears fall,
And I'm gone.

I remember people, but never a glance.
I remember how my first love fell from my grasp.
I remember when my heart began breaking.
I'll remember today when I finally broke.

The metal makes me feel once again.
Houses filled with smiles,
No one near me on my ledge.
When the last night falls into darkness,
The rain falls, the tears fall,
And I'm gone.

Falling forever, where do I end?
What is life when the desire is death?
My scars broke the surface,
My burning eyes now numb.
The tears' final stream down my cheek.
When everything grabs a hold,
I fall through.

And then I'm gone

Both a beautiful and sad poem. I love it.
