Repent And Serve

We must repent of things outside
Repent and turn to love
Repent and be Christ’s faithful bride
Walking The Way above

We see the world in disarray
We see our neighbour’s need
We see the hunger of today
Sowing our pious Seed

Man’s eye can see the way we live
The selfishness within
“What” they say “Have you to give?
Living like me in sin”

Our sleeves we need to roll up high
Our backs we need to bend
Seek guidance far beyond the sky
From Christ our Lord and friend

Our money’s not for us alone
Having our daily bread
We need to soften hearts of stone
And raise the walking dead

Through love alone the world may see
The miracle of Christ
Through faith she too may bend her knee
When time we’ve sacrificed

We’ll see them come in droves and herds
With contrite heart and soul
When neighbours see we’re more than words
Out on a Sunday stroll

Through selfless deeds true love’s displayed
Laying all self aside
Serving the sheep who’ve erred and strayed
As Jesus’ serving bride
