Restless Poem by Danusha Marie

Restless

I’m restless today
My mind unsettled
Focus is blurred
Random thoughts in my way

I pick up a brush
Lay out my paints
Stare at the canvas
No inspirational rush

I move to the pen
On paper it rests
Waiting for wit
Or a creative Zen

I pick up a book
And sit outside
But on the pages words
Dance and break my look

I can’t sit in silence
Yet motivation slips
To find one direction
For my energy’s resilience

I have this day
Bright and beautiful
Time abundant
If I could find my way

I need an outlet
Fulfilling and busy
To settle this chaos
Give my mind a place to set

I will dally and putter
Till something does come
That will hold my attention
And stop all the mutter
