Retrieve The Truth

Through selfishness man’s heart is blind
Through lust are minds misled
Redemption’s way’s so hard to find
As though we’re walking dead

Since Adam’s time we lose our way
We flounder fall and fail
In times of storm we’re led astray
Like ships without a sail

The worldly wise behave as fools
Beauty is but skin deep
All silver gold and precious jewels
For long is not to keep

Filling lives with untold sorrow
What else may treasures bring?
Here today and gone tomorrow
Like winter snow in spring

So now instead we must be wise
Take score of life at hand
Allow our past to open eyes
And truly understand

For when God’s truth the mind retrieves
When souls begin to see
When Calvary the heart believes
Christ’s blood has set us free

It’s time at Jesus’ feet to sit
It’s time to hear love sing
Retrieving glory bit by bit
Beneath God’s healing wing

Let darkness fade where light belongs
Let praise be heard above
Let God receive our heart-felt songs
We send with all our love
