Rhyme: A Veiled Threshold Poem by Caryl Ramsdale

Rhyme: A Veiled Threshold

I saw them somersaulting in midair,
Scads of frolicsome things in human form;
Diving, leaping, flashing light everywhere,
Kicking up a magical firestorm.

They tumbled by knees bent, feet a flying,
Flipping fast end over end fanning flames;
And all the while I could hear her sighing,
Afore whispering those rascal’s wee names.

Perching on velvet royal like a queen,
Cocooning the glowing imps in one hand;
The winged keeper of unlocked doors unseen,
Dimmed sky-high fireworks…hid fairyland.
