Riddle Poem by Bob Axell

Riddle

We read
Therefore we write
We breed
Therefore we fight

We need
Therefore we might
Leave
This drunken world.

But don't you see?
Can't your eyes sight?
That everythings alright.

Don't you see?
Can't you be tender?
Everythings ok...

We head
To brand new heights
We leave
With lies inside

We soar
To new insights
And ride
The lights that rise

But don't you see?
Can't your eyes sight?
That everythings alright.

Don't you see?
Can't you be tender?
Everythings ok...

I'll stash my tears,
Like pepperspray.
I'll save my sanity,
For a rainy day.

You might be tamed.
You might be calmed.
Of awareness drained.
But mine remains

My mind is set.
I can't refrain.

And you let.
Them lead you there.
Into your life.
Year after year.

Yet you forget.
You are their pet.
So unaware.
So under care.

But don't you see?
Can't your eyes sight?
That everythings alright.

Don't you see?
Can't you be tender?
Everythings ok...

You live, by their leash,
But I am stray...
