Ride And Learn Poem by Luke Arthur

Ride And Learn

You’ve had a rough ride but never once cried
Your life’s been a test, that can’t be denied
But, if I asked you tomorrow to swap all of your sorrow
Would you my son, for an easier life, borrow
Your time again and a different path follow

Lessons you’ve learnt are the toughest taught
To understand them completely,
You will have had to have fought
Until the penny was dropped and then caught
Experience was your teacher
Cause true wisdom can not be bought

Rich in the knowledge of what it means to be human
An epiphany earned, not asked for, nor wished for
But, granted too you all the same
Move on in your resolve, content
For the essence of self is accepting
Inadequacy in all other human beings
