Rightfully So Poem by Jordyn Williamson

Rightfully So

‘Just get over it'
‘You're not sad'
‘You just want attention'

you never said those things.
you always asked if i was okay and when i said "yes, " you would ask if i was sure.
you never believed me, rightfully so

‘Move on'
‘Get over it'
‘We have our own lives'

you always said that it was going to be ok.
you never told me to leave you alone.
you knew better than to treat me like i have been, maybe rightfully so?

‘Why do you think you're so important'
‘Stay out of the way'
‘You're so annoying'

maybe one day you will forget about me, rightfully so.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
whether it's a breakup, a teacher you are leaving during graduation, or the death of a loved one, words are so hard to get out and sometimes finding the perfect poem to read helps suppress that feeling.
