Rivers - Poem by Lee B. Mack

I would never forget holy places
Anniversary catered acts to Meroe
Rivers between us know
Waters whence edges north
And beaches south come and go
The barium green of newly wed
To the Griot senior moment of lay
But for - not the forgotten bed
Starlit magnesium molecule enzymes
Turning shadow and glittering snows
To phenomenal rains of green
God turns to yellow membrane stained
With spectrum waves of rainbow bend
To floors at the ocean trench rest
The sodium crystallized to redden
Into the ore of sweat to colored soul
The holy home where all our people
Come from and all the children go.
