Rock And Word Collecting Poem by Joseph M Donatelli

Rock And Word Collecting

From out of me suddenly up welled
A splattered belch of boulders fell
Irregular rocks word patterns dropped
From out my heavy mind I unwind
Taming my ragged lines I find
The jagged shapes of my shattered images

Angular white gray boulders crashed
Into a rich green field of rockey grass
Poetry letters novels aren't just faded
Black letters printed on white pages
Red yellow pink rocks aren't colorless
Nothing can outshine the gaudiness
Of alpha quartz and quirky feldspar

My thoughts are also filled with color
My bones are well my minds a stutter
My obscure lines reflect my utter
Need to mask my feelings thus
In locked up words my secrets vailed
A poets obtuse words vague concealed
