1986
God don't dance the minuet, or listen to a fugue,
cos he's freaked out on Rock'n'Roll as synthesised by Moog.
You know he's into Rock and into Roll,
moving to a rhythm full of soul,
rocking with the heartbeat of the sea.
rolling with the waves eternally.
The acoustics of the cosmos
are designed for Rock'n'Roll,
you can hear the bass vibration
at the heart of that black hole.
And when you hear that moody blue guitar
you know you've found the hallmark of a star.
There ain't no choirs of angels,
cos it's rock bands all the way.
They play the Rock of Ages
like the prophets used to say.
Time is like an ever-rolling stream.
That rock on which he built a church,
ain't just a poet's dream.
A man who builds his house on Rock'n'Roll
is more than half way home to save his soul.
You've gotta see, unless you are a fool,
if hell's too hot, then heaven must be cool.
God don't dance a minuet, or listen to a fugue,
he blows his mind on Rock'n'Roll as synthesised by Moog.
He's studded all the world with superstars
and he keeps the puppets dancing
on the strings of their guitars.
The acoustics of the cosmos
are designed for Rock'n'Roll.
You can hear the bass vibration
at the heart of that black hole.
And though we may look up into the blues,
that's solid Rock that's underneath our shoes.
