Roll-On, Terry! - Poem by Richard Holman

Extension retention prevention invention of a new way of thinking
blinking as the sun darts through the gaps in the fence I can hardly
see a thing but in the end the end is the end but possibly also the
beginning of a new end or a beginning and sinning and singing stars
at night glisten as we listen to the whispered words of secret lovers
and mothers and fathers in their living rooms watching the junk box
poisoning their minds with the newspapers and the bollocks
that gets shovelled down their throat minds and mistaken for
an original opinion.

From an early age we get told what to like and what to do.
If it's not the TV or newspapers it's the politicians.
    A great poem.
