Romney Wins 2012 Poem by Kendra Evans

Romney Wins 2012

Romney wins 2012

Taken in the middle of the night
my virtue stolen from me
A police report will never begin
to the life he left with me

A few week later I found that I bore his child
new laws determined that evenI would have
to run this mile

A quick decision to give my first child away
'cuz the hatred building up in me would
never go a stray

With ever move I cried
and kicked made me mad
I wish that he would have just killed me dead

After of months of torture
devastation and pain
I graciously gave my handsome baby away

Still years later I get a call
He wants to meet at his birth mother
ask one question that's all

Looking square in his eyes
all he asked is simply 'Why? '
Only answer I could tell
'Romney won in 2012'

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This was written during the election, politicians rarely think of the possible outcomes when they make decisions for us. As a woman I was offended that there was even a possiblity that someone else could determine what can be done with my body.
