Rosebush - Poem by Alexianna Brandhagen

Rose as red as apples
Beauty to which
None can compare
Closes up
For fear of being hurt
Or stepped on
And broken
And grows thorns
To find out
Who cares enough
To get a little hurt
And care for her
And nurture her
To let her grow
Into a rosebush

This is very good. The first thing that came to my mind was what an ex told me when we fell in love. My love is like a rose. Overtime it grows into something beautiful. There will always be a couple thorns now and again but the overall beauty is overwhelming. When she left me, I wrote A Withered Flower based on that quote. (Report) Reply
