Roses Poem by Yvonne Allsop

Roses

The roses that you bought me,
Brought light into my world.
But now they fade and die my love,
As does my lovely world.

You stayed as long as roses bloomed;
That is too short a stay.
To give away our happiness,
To turn and walk away.

The memory of those rose will stay,
Forever in my mind.
And like a beacon to my past,
This torch will always shine.
