The capit'list canker corrupts all things -
consider the joyless lives that it brings.
Yet beauty can always be bought by they
who've oodles of lucre to pay their way.
But as for the plebs and the proles it seems -
their pleasures must all be confined to dreams.
The public realm is run ruthlessly down,
as can be witnessed by each shabby town
you will pass through when on your way to see
how the one percent - the greedy - make free
with the fabulous wealth our toil has earned.
Isn't it time that the tables were turned?
But there's little chance - when we all accept
what the right-wing press spews out unchecked.
When the left has seemingly lost its nerve,
with the spineless promise that it will serve
the obscenely rich and the bloated scrotes,
if only we'd give it our pointless votes.
