Sailors Doom Poem by Nellie Kate

Sailors Doom

Take a breath and then set sail.
The sailor has no idea he isn't coming home.
Storm clouds roll in but he keeps going.
His wife at home cooking and waiting.
She also has no idea he isn't coming home.

As the waves crash harder,
He soon realizes his fate.
But somehow he doesn't stop.

As the waves pulled his ship down lower and lower,
Sinking all his crew mates.
He closes his eyes and blows a kiss.

A week later,
His son goes out to set sail too.
To find the mystery of his missing father.
And as the waves crashed harder,
He soon realized his fate too.
Knowing what was happening he let go of the wheel.

And again as the waves pulled him down
Sinking his ship with no crew,
He closed his eyes and blew a kiss.

Every year on that day,
The man in the family sets sail to find the rest of them.
Little do they know,
They will never,
Ever,
Not once,
Come
Back Home.
