Salvation Can’t Be Bought

Rating: 5.0

Just think salvation could be bought
Man purchase second birth
Thieves and cheats would fear for nought
The rich, would rule the earth

The strong, through force, would take their toll
The weak, would stand aside
The sneak, would trick the simple soul
If man could turn the tide

Yet king and slave both suffer pain
To death must bend the knee
For gold and silver cannot gain
What Jesus gives us free

Through Christ alone we’ve saving grace
Through Christ, the price is paid
Through Christ, we’ll find the secret place
Where robes will never fade

We must be clothed, when Heaven bound
Our raiment shining white
Yet only those in Jesus found
Receive their gown of light

No bank account can buy the gown
That hangs beneath the tree
No king can ever gain a crown!
Except they bend their knee

Except we sit at Jesus feet
Except we Christ obey
We’ll join the killer and the cheat
Throughout the youngest day

Through mountain trials we’ll understand
How deep or high we climb
Salvation’s but through Jesus’ hand
Through Jesus every time…
