Same Routine Poem by David Self

Same Routine

Morning glaze appears through the dark sky,
Another day yes another day.
The day changes name, but day stays the same,
The clock clicks by but same old same old.

Sit and wonder what could be,
There is a world where we could be free.
Just a cog in the machine of life,
Round and Round oh life's strife.

Can we not have a 30 hour day,
Where we can be at home and just stay.
Or is it home where you want be,
I think we all just wanna be free.

I constantly think there is more to life,
The birds in the sky free of stress.
The landscape looks so calm,
Could just sit for hours.

This life is not for the free,
We work, we sleep, we anything but free.
We work for others in jobs we can't stand,
To pay the bills for the government in fat cat land.

I get tired of the roundabout life,
I get bored and what would it be like.
You see I'm bored of life,
I'm bored of life.
