Samson Aachenistes Poem by A. P. Herbert

Samson Aachenistes

'Touch me who dares!' the German Samson said,
'I will pull down all Europe on his head.'
And, there's no doubt, the Germans, good or bad,
Would still have hailed the hero if he had.
But will he win much national renown
By playing Samson in his own home-town?
