Sandal Poem by Danette Frenz

Sandal

My sandal broke.
I tried so hard
To make it work
But it just won’t fit.

My sandal broke
I tried so hard
To make it work
But it just won’t fix.

When you know deep down,
In your heart.
But don’t know when and
Where to start.

Take baby steps.
It’ll be alright,
You will gain strength
All “kine” insight.

Cinderella found her shoe,
And too,
her Prince Charming
Did fit, that heel,
And so I feel,
One day I will
Find my one too.

So I stand alone.
My sins to atone.
With one foot out
But I am whole
Never without.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A friend gave me two brand new pairs of sandals. I wore one and walked around and sadly it broke! So I walked around with one sandal, humming a tune and this 'song' came to mind.
