Sanser (Norwegian) Poem by Debora Jarvela

Sanser (Norwegian)

There's a worm on the sidewalk
There's a worm on the street
I pick them both up so they
Won't squish beneath my feet
I hear a baby crying as I'm
Walking down the aisle
I jiggle all my keys at her
So she begins to smile
Havarti cheese and lefse
Is what I have with tea
My friends will join me also
So I make sure I have plenty
Lilacs grow all over
In our tiny country town
They're so beautiful to look at
And the smell won't let you down
Shadow loved his belly rubbed
The best dog I ever had
He always seemed so happy
And never ever got mad!
