Your power is given to you
As an IAS officer in Government
By somebody else, by Govt.

Satam’s is his own, earned by him
By utilizing his own skills,
Knowledge and resources,
Not getting anything conferred
By law or the Commissioner.

Hence after you both have died
He has his chowk, a public square
Named after him,
And your widow, your family pension -

Nor forgetting that both will end
In course of time.
