Say No Poem by Asaolu Abayomi

Say No

Out of the running thick water
Did we hit the gold
An expecting egg
Rammed by a frog like liquid
The result is one.

Our difference is our result
You came soft
I came hard
You came into all round comfort
I came into survival

My survival led me to you
You comfort called me refugee
You have the brain
I have the brain
You can do it
I can do it

You can burn
I can burn
Your light quenches darkness
My light quenches darkness
Why are you calling me black?
Why am I evil and you angel?
Why am I a monkey and you human?
Why?

We both have a duty, so say No
We all have a life to live, so say No
We both will move our world better
So just say No
Say No
You didn't create us
