Scales In Balance Poem by Brian Rihlmann

Scales In Balance

On one side
the shiny sphere
of your "won't"
drops, teeters
like a gutter ball.

On the other
the leaden lump
of my "can't"
falls with a clank.

We stand staring
at each other
across scales
in perfect balance.

In complete silence.
