Scared Poem by Tashira Rodriguez

Scared

Everything was normal,
Maybe a bit too formal.
Not a cloud in the sky,
Like our day-to-day life.

Suddenly, everything turned gray,
From happy to scared, all in the same day.
Storm clouds, swallowing the earth,
All of our darkest fears were about to unearth.

When he pulled out the gun, everything changed.
We wanted to go home, away from the deranged.
We saw our lives in a different way,
To our dearest ones we had so much to say.

Pointing the gun at all the frozen people,
Some panicking, some calm, but all fearful.
We thought he'd never snap, so we stared and gaped.
He looked like a maniac, just freshly escaped
