Scars Poem by Julia Pascual

Scars

Scars
As the night turns to dawn
She wonders by herself
How much longer should it be
Till there were no pains left

She stares at the stars
Envying how they shine
Pitying herself all alone
Over all the lost time

Remorse is what she felt
As she tried to hide her tears
She thought of every moment
Collected throughout the years

If she could only redo
That life changing moment
If she could only change
The things she had said

If she can only accept
The truth she’d been denying
If she can only say yes
To that mutual feeling

But time is irreplaceable
That’s what she’d realized
To the feelings she’d been keeping
It was time to say goodbye

And so as the night turns to dawn
She stares alone at the stars
Trying to heal the wounds
Wounds that will surely leave scars
