Send Me An Angel Poem by Michael Koelliker

Send Me An Angel

I’m lying here alone
Waiting for God to answer my prayer
I said to Him, “God, you have shown
Me the Light of Love to share

I have this Light in my hand,
But I’m alone on this stand
I’ve been loyal and I am able
So God, please send me an Angel.

A girl with golden silk of hair
Riding down from heaven on a silvery mare
With sapphire pools for eyes
Eyes which in all Light shine

And a voice, which the sirens envy
And like Echo leaves a fond memory
Her skin light and fair
Shining with a luminous care

That’s the kind of girl for me,
But most of all God, Don’t let her be
Heartless. Let her Love me like I do her
And let our Love grow and mature.”

As I finished the prayer
I took time to stare
At the picture in my head
Was my spark of true love dead?

In the end all I want
Is to live in the arms of my Angel.

The male fairy tale...I like this image much better than the thought of a knight in shiny armor on a horse. If only everyone could get a chance to love like this.
