Set Fire To All That We Do... Poem by Alicia Calloway

Set Fire To All That We Do...

lonely is the night
The night i breathe in
exhale
and fall
hang myself upside
down the slide
torwards the swing
the stars will carry me
and spin my body round
round the gaping field
Then the grass will wrap around me
Forming with my figure
as i turn
i break the blades
yet they form again
until a hand appears on my shoulder
but it's too late
because all that was fun
is now on fire
I breathe in with fright as you hold me
and i watch, realizing
Lonely is the night
