Shadows Poem by Kathy Lippard Cobb

Shadows

Shadows returned when you left—
taunting and teasing with glimpses of light.

Wrapping me in a velvet cloak—
surrounding my senses with night.

Dazed and confused, I surrender.
Do the shadows want to hurt or protect me?

Sometimes, it's not easy to tell—
time will decide what the outcome will be.
