She Dreams Poem by Eric Mwenda

She Dreams

In a room small
like this,
only alittle smaller,
In a far away town
like this,
on this night
sleeps my piece

Across this distance
the aura follows my piece,
like the lips that part at command
to allow pass the flash
of a smile so sincere born,
It is the breath
that stops my breath,
the laughter
that is mine,
the heart beat
i cannot do without.
But what can i do
across this distance,
but sigh?

My mind is helpless.
It floats across town
over valleys and rivers..
Carried by the unseeing eye
and unrelenting wishes,
for,
in a room small
but smaller than this,
In a far away town
one like this
on this night
sleeps my love.
